Sierra Leone’s BECE 2024 Examination Begins Today for 126,496 Students

The Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE), Conrad Sackey, has issued a passionate message of encouragement to the 126,496 students who will be writing this year’s examinations as the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) gets underway today, Monday, July 29.

Minister Conrad Sackey spoke to the students and emphasized the value of their hard work and perseverance as they approach this significant academic milestone.

A total of 126,496 of you from 1,833 schools—61,380 men and 65,116 women—will take the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) this year at 333 locations across the nation.

The Minister emphasized that passing the tests is essential to a successful and promising future. “Remember that this is a first step toward a prosperous and hopeful future as you complete the paperwork. “Your perseverance and hard work are the keys to opening up new opportunities,” he remarked.

Minister Sackey gave the students assurances about the Ministry’s steadfast faith in their skills and its dedication to helping them.

“You have the belief and unwavering support of the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education at every turn. He urged them to “stay calm, stay focused, and let your true potential shine.” The minister wished all of the candidates well as he concluded his remarks. “May the good Lord bless you abundantly!” he wished.
